Abstract

Il contributo intende offrire una sintesi delle principali leggi sull’istruzione emanate nel Regno delle Due Sicilie durante il Risorgimento italiano, evidenziandone sia gli elementi di continuità sia la reale efficacia, soprattutto in termini di scolarizzazione e alfabetizzazione delle masse. Nella parte conclusiva dell’articolo vengono messi in risalto gli aspetti più critici del sistema scolastico del Regno delle Due Sicilie che il Regno d’Italia erediterà dopo l’unificazione nazionale.

 

This contribution intends to offer a summary of the main laws on education issued in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies during the Italian Risorgimento. It highlights the elements that gave continuity to those laws, and highlights the concrete effectiveness of those laws, especially in terms of education and literacy of the masses. The final part of the article focuses on the most critical aspects of the school system of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies that the Kingdom of Italy will inherit after national unification.
