Abstract

L’articolo analizza le cause immediate delle due guerre mondiali e la sistemazione del problema tedesco che le ha seguite, al fine di valutare le differenze con l’attuale crisi russo-ucraina. La natura della violazione dell’ordine internazionale commessa dalla Russia viene confrontata con le precedenti violazioni da parte della Germania e le lezioni tratte dai due precedenti accordi del dopoguerra vengono valutate e confrontate con la strategia dichiarata dalla Nato rispetto alla crisi attuale.

 

The paper analyses the proximate causes of the two world wars and the settlement of the German problem that followed them in order to assess the differences with the present Russian-Ukrainian crisis. The nature of the breach in the international order committed by Russia is compared to the previous breaches by Germany and the lessons from the two previous postwar settlements are assessed and compared to Nato’s stated strategy with respect to the present crisis.
